Objective(s): This study aimed to translate and test the reliability and validity of the MQ in Iran.
Results: In all, 87 women suffering from menorrhagia participated in the study. The mean age of the respondents was 32 (±7.5) years. The mean MQ score was 45 (±15.5) and 25 (±15.2) before and after treatment. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was found to be 0.73 and 0.77 before and after treatment. In addition, measuring test-retest reliability, the ICC was found to be 0.83. The convergent analysis demonstrated that the MQ score was negatively correlated with the SF-36 dimensions as expected.
Conclusion: This preliminary validation study of the Iranian version of the MQ proved that it is a reliable and valid measure of health-related quality of life in women with menorrhagia.
