Objective(s): The ability to communicate accurately is a fundamental skill in nursing. Therapeutic communication is a key concept in nursing and is considered an essential part of the nursing practice. Due to the lack of a specific, this study aimed to translate and assess the psychometrics of the scale.
Methods: This was a methodological investigation. After translating the questionnaire, face validity, qualitative, and quantitative content validity were evaluated. Five hundred nurses completed the questionnaire. Exploratory factor analysis was conducted to assess the structural validity of the questionnaire. Internal consistency was determined by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and test stability was assessed using the retest method and calculating the intraclass correlation index.
Results: The findings showed satisfactory results for face validity content validity (0.710 and 0.928, respectively). The questionnaire consisted of three dimensions: "professional nurse", "patient," and "perception of the situation". In reliability phase The Cronbach's alpha and Intraclass Correlation (ICC) of the tool were calculated as 0.86 and 0.95, respectively.
Conclusion: The psychometric analysis of the Persian version of the Nurse-Patient Relationship Analysis Questionnaire demonstrated that this tool can be utilized as a valid and reliable instrument for research purposes among Iranian nurses.
