Abstract:   (108 Views)
Objective (s): Health psychology emphasizes the role of psychological factors in the cause, progress and consequences of health and illness. The purpose of this research was to analyze the trend of publications and illustration of investigations in health psychology during the years 2013 to 2022.
Methods: The current research was a descriptive analysis carried out with a scientometric approach. The statistical population of the current research was 26,223 health psychology documents in WoS database. Data analysis was performed using Excel, Histcite and VOSviewer softwares.
Results: The findings showed that 149 countries contributed to publication of health psychology documents. The USA, England and China ranked first with the publication of 53% of documents. Researchers from Iran also ranked 20th by publishing 319 documents (1.22%). The journal "Frontiers in Psychology" was recognized as the most productive and influential journal by publishing 1068 articles (4.07 percent) and receiving 15,615 citations. "University of Melbourne" with 282 articles (1.1%) was recognized as the most productive and "University of Michigan" with 10,137 citations introduced as the most influential institute. The main topics were: hot topics, notable topics, and emerging topics.
Conclusion: The findings showed that during the years 2013 to 2022, the trend of publication of documents in health psychology was increased. It can be predicted that if the frequency of publications in health psychology continues its current trend, the cumulative frequency of publications in the next 10 years, i.e. 2031, will be more than doubled. Possibly it is time that health psychology research be directed towards priorities and needs of the society.
