اطلاع رسانی به بیماران سرطانی از دیدگاه متخصصان پزشکی و بهداشتی: یک مطالعه مقطعی

در جریان مطالعه ای که به منظور بررسی وضعیت اطلاع رسانی به بیماران سرطانی از دیدگاه متخصصان پزشکی و بهداشتی انجام شد، با مراجعه حضوری یک پرسشگر آموزش دیده به بیمارستان امام خمینی تهران و با استفاده از پرسشنامه انجمن چند ملیتی مراقبت های حمایتی در سرطان (Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer-MASCC)، هفتاد و یک نفر از متخصصان بالینی، پزشکان و پرستاران مورد مصاحبه قرار گرفتند. بر اساس نتایج مطالعه، 54% از پاسخ دهندگان ابراز داشتند که به کمتر از 20% از بیماران سرطانی تشخیص واقعی بیماری را منتقل می سازند. همچنین بیشتر متخصصان تمایل خود را برای ارایه اطلاعات بیشتر به بیماران خود ابراز داشتند (85%). وقتی از جمعیت مورد مطالعه سوال شد که چه نوع اطلاعاتی به بیماران منتقل می کنند، 45% به انتقال مطالب کلی در مورد سرطان و 20% به ارایه بروشورهای آگاهی دهنده اشاره داشتند. در پاسخ به این سوال که عمده ترین علل و موانع محدودیت اطلاع رسانی به بیماران سرطانی چیست، درخواست خانواده بیماران مبنی بر عدم انتقال تشخیص واقعی بیماری (18%) و سپس محدودیت های زمانی (16%) مورد اشاره بوده اند. به طور کلی یافته های مطالعه حاضر نشان دهنده آن است که وضعیت اطلاع رسانی به بیماران سرطانی در ایران نامناسب بوده و طراحی و اجرای روش های موثر و کاربردی در این زمینه ضروری است.
<div style="text-align: justify;">Objectivets): To investigate about attitudes of health professionals towards the status of cancer patient education in Iran.<br>
Material & Methods: The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer's questionnaire<br>
(MASCC), professional version, was used. Seventy-one health professionals (a sample of physicians and nurses) from Iranian Cancer Institute were entered into the study.<br>
Results: Most respondents (54%) said that they tell the real diagnosis to less than 20% of their patients,<br>
although they would like to tell more information to patients (85%). When respondents were asked: "What kind of information would you like to tell the patients" the majority pointed out: general information about cancer (45%) and giving pamphlets (20%). When it was asked: "What are the most barriers or reasons that limit cancer patient education?" families request not to tell the patients the truth (18%) and time limitations (16%) were the most stated barriers by the respondents.<br>
Conclusion: The findings of the study suggest that cancer patient education in Iran is very poor and there is an urgent need to develop policy guidelines and educational programs regarding cancer patient education.</div>
