Objective(s): To determine consistency between death certificate and medical records in two hospitals in Kerman, Iran.
Methods: Check list was used to collate data on hospital medical records and a questionnaire from viewpoint of certifiers. To analyze the data percentage of each question was calculated and compared.
Results: The results indicated that knowledge of physicians in completion of death certificate and registration of underlying causes of deaths was not good. The rate of registration of other information was relatively good.
Conclusion: The finding of the study revealed that there is need to educate physician now to complete a death certificate.
